The Flavors Of Turkey Burgers

Although Turkey is a healthy food to eat, burgers that are made with the meat might not taste as good as those that are made with beef. Fortunately, there are a few ways that you can make frozen turkey burgers taste delicious without taking away from the healthy qualities that they offer. Keep in mind that turkey burgers have high levels of protein and low amounts of sodium and fat compared to beef.

An option that you have for making a delicious sandwich with healthy bread is to put the burger on an English muffin instead of using white bread. Wheat bread is an option as well. You can use the English muffin with an egg and cheese to make a turkey sandwich for breakfast. A classic idea would be to put the turkey burger on a traditional bun with your favorite toppings, such as lettuce, cheese, and a tomato slice. Swiss cheese pairs well with turkey instead of cheddar or American cheese.

Pesto is a healthy option for turkey burgers. You can put mozzarella on the burger along with sun-dried tomatoes for a refreshing sandwich that is filled with flavor. If you want to make a turkey burger with a little spice, then turn it into a Mexican burger by adding salsa, pepper jack cheese, guacamole, and a few crushed tortilla chips. You can also add a few slices of peppers if you want added heat.

Sometimes, you need a healthy option on the days that you exercise. Instead of using bread, eat your turkey burger with only the toppings that you like so that you don’t have the added carbohydrates. You can also use a large piece of lettuce as a wrap with the turkey burger chopped in small pieces. Add a few slices of avocado and mustard for a healthy treat that you can enjoy for lunch or dinner.
