Quarantine Wine Pairing Snacks

Snacks and Wine have become synonymous with the word quarantine for the last few months. Between virtual happy hours, virtual wine tastings, afternoon cocktail hours, and more, now is a perfect time to settle in for these quarantine Wine Pairing Snacks

Quarantine Wine Pairing Snacks

While we may not know when quarantine will end, good wine can take your average quarantine snack and elevate it to above average almost instantly.

And since time stands still when on quarantine, enjoy your snacks and wine any time of the day. We’re bringing you easy ways on how to pair wine with your favorite Quarantine Wine Pairing snacks.

Ramen Noodles

Yes, it’s the perfect comfort snack, Ramen noodles, but what is the best wine pairing? Photo: Pixabay

In a throwback to college days, quarantine has us craving a cheap old friend of ours, ramen noodles. Pair ramen with a glass of Pinot Gris. (One of my favorite and affordable go-to quarantine is an Italian wine: Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio.)

Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Comfort food grilled cheese sandwich, try wine pairing with Decoy Cabernet Sauvignon.

Enjoy your grilled cheese with a cabernet sauvignon or a merlot as both pair perfectly with the cheddar on your sandwich.

Mac & Cheese

When your go-to best quarantine wine pairing snack is mac ‘n cheese select an earthy Pinot Noir.

Pair your Mac & Cheese with an earthy Pinot Noir.

Popcorn Snack

Quarantine wine pairing snacks include popcorn and movie night at home.

While most of the theaters are closed, and not many offer the deliciousness of a glass of wine during the movie anyway, break out the wine and popcorn for a movie night at home. A white wine with high acidity pairs really nicely with the saltiness of the popcorn, so go for a Pinot Grigio or Riesling.

Peanut Butter & Jelly

Did someone say PBJ and wine? Why yes, I don’t mind if I do! Photo: Pixabay

Are the shelves bare at home? Trying to spread out that last grocery trip or can’t get an Instant Cart time? The good old childhood favorite Peanut Butter & Jelly it is! Except, as an adult, you can enjoy a glass of wine, like a Riesling, with a good ol’ fashioned PBJ. Why not go all international and pour a Giesen Riesling 2016 from New Zealand? You’re welcome!

Hummus & Veggie Crudite

This lovely hummus tray was served at the Farm at Cape Kidnappers in New Zealand, but you travel virtually at home with wine pairing snacks of hummus and veggies + Kim Crawford Rosé from Hawkes Bay.

While store-bought hummus may be easier, make your own while you are quarantining with a can of chickpeas. Serve it with some sliced veggies (you don’t want them to feel left out in all of this!) and a Rosé.

Craving chocolate?

Ghirardelli Chocolate + Josh Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon = Quarantine  wine pairing snacks happiness

We know we are! We do love Ghirardelli Squares, but if high-quality chocolate isn’t an option now, choose chocolate ice cream, fun-size snicker bars, or chocolate chip cookies. (Of course, you can also choose them all!) Savor your sweet tooth with a glass of Josh Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon.

Potato Chips

When we think of “snacks” our mind automatically goes right to potato chips. Pair plain potato chips with Champagne. If there’s any leftover, use it in the morning for mimosas. Sour Cream & Onion pairs well with a Chardonnay and Salt & Vinegar chips go well with a light Sauvignon Blanc. A bag of BBQ Chips will pair with a lively Red Zinfandel.

Tortilla Chips & Salsa

Pretend you’re at your favorite Mexican restaurant for Taco Tuesday with a never-ending bowl of chips and salsa. Open up a bottle of Pinot Grigio or Riesling.

Pizza

Comfort Pizza is always the perfect quarantine dish, but what is the best wine pairing?

Continue to end the work week with a Pizza (although it may be frozen or homemade) and a Zinfandel.
