Alexandra Rose Raisman, a retired American artistic gymnast and two-time Olympian, was born on May 25, 1994.

She captained the US women’s Olympic gymnastics teams that won their respective team competitions in 2012 and 2016.

She was the most decorated American gymnast at the 2012 Olympics in London, winning gold medals in the team and floor competitions, as well as a bronze medal on the balance beam.

She earned a gold medal in the team event at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, making her and colleague Gabby Douglas the only Americans to win back-to-back team gold medals.

Raisman also took silver in the individual all-around and floor exercise competitions.

She trained at Exxcel Gymnastics and Climbing until Level 8, when she transferred to Mihai and Silvia Brestyan’s American Gymnastics Club.

Raisman graduated from Needham High School in 2012, having completed her senior year online while training for the Olympics.
