Gradually Build Strength and Endurance

A friend recently shared with me that she had not exercised in a long time, but one day she decided to come out of this sedentary way of being and work out. She said she gave it all she had and although it was challenging both physically and mentally she kept going-completing a thirty minute workout.  The next day she was unable to move, every muscle ached severely and every move she made brought pain.  One important aspect of Fitness is to understand that getting in shape is not accomplished overnight but it is accomplished with commitment and consistency.  If you have not worked out in a long time you must start Gradually, I mean really taking your time. You will feel the strength, endurance, and vitality from exercising on a regular basis and you will see the results. Now that the holiday season is upon us and all kinds of food will be readily available to us, the challenge to start a fitness program or keep one going is going to intensify.  Just remember that some exercise is better than no exercise but do take it slow to avoid injury and severe pain.

Wisdom is priceless
