FENDI’s Splendid Nest in Rome: Palazzo Fendi
At the entrance of Fendi’s biggest flagship store in Rome, a red marble ladder that connects two floors that opens-up to the heart of building in a large space. Design was inspired by the Italian Renaissance. The use of unexpected materials such as silver leaves on a mirror on a ceiling, stairs are not a static stone sculpture, but a living cover or liquid stone moving in the stone traverten walls. FENDI is thought to have a sincere relationship between the Roman origins and the modernity of the brand: the contrast of traditional materials such as antique marble is reinterpreted as contemporary patterns. Palazzo Fendi also owns the International Design Awards / Interior Design Award 2015 for this unique store design in Rome.
Location: Palazzo Fendi, Largo Goldoni, Rome.
