What is an OSHA 10 hour certification training course?

Safety in the workplace is a major concern for many employers. One possibility is to improve safety Training by administering federal occupational health and safety (OSHA, for its acronym in English ). Osha was created by the act of OHS in 1970 to promote the safe and healthy workplace. OSHA offers many forms of training and certification. The most common is the OSHA 10 certification. Workers can receive certification to complete a 10 hour course which is offered as part of OSHA outreach training.

OSHA 10 hour Outreach Training Program

The training program is a voluntary disclosure course which aims to be an introduction to issues of health and safety. The courses are taught by authorized trainers who have completed courses to issue OSHA training courses. In 2004, approximately 300,000 workers completed training courses disclosure. In 2008, more than 675,000 workers were in classes of disclosure. This growth has occurred as more industries began to include training outreach programs as part of their general training. Industries that were incorporated into the training include the construction trade, general contractors, insurance companies, and manufacturing firms. There are two types of OSHA outreach training: general industry and construction.

OSHA 10 hour construction certification training course

Training disclosure construction has been designed to give entrants to construction workers a basic understanding of how to recognize and avoid hazards on a construction site. The course covers a wide range of potential hazards which a worker may encounter. Instructors are trained to teach students about hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevent them, and what aspects do not meet OSHA standards. Training topics include an introduction to OSHA, material handling, scaffolding, tools, excavations, ladders, fall protection, electrical protection, personal protective equipment and rescue and health hazards in construction.

OSHA 10 hour General Industry certification training course

E l outreach training general industry gives workers in general industry entering an understanding of how to recognize and avoid hazards. The course covers a wide range of potential hazards which a worker may encounter. Instructors are trained to teach students about hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevent them, and what aspects do not meet OSHA standards. Topics covered in the training to include: introduction to OSHA, work surfaces and where to walk, hazardous materials, escape routes, plans, emergency action plans, fire prevention equipment, personnel and electrical protection, hazardous communication, manipulating materials, machine guarding, introduction to industry hygiene, germs blood and ergonomics.

OSHA provides several ways to find coaching classes for OSHA 10 certification. A place is on the web site OSHA Outreach Trainers ( see resources). OSHA encourages all certified trainers to include a profile of coach and schedule on this website. OSHA also provides a list of active coaches disclosure. OSHA 10 hour certification
