Indian Railways Technical and Engineering Recruitment September 2014

Railway recruitment Board invites online application for recruitment for various technical and engineering posts in Indian Railways. We have provided all information like posts, pay scale, eligibility, exam pattern and sample papers.

Important dates:

Online application form filling: 20 Sep 2014 to 19 Oct 2014

Exam Date (Tentative): 1.  14 Dec 2014 (For  Junior Engineer Group); 21 Dec 2014 (Senior Section Engineer Group)

How to Apply:

  1. Candidates need to visit their RRB website.
  2. Click on Apply online / Online Application.
  3. Register yourself by clicking New Registration.
  4. Fill all details including your personal details and post you want to apply for.
  5. There will be examination fees ( Rs. 100) for General and OBC category students. No fees for SC/ST candidates. This fees can be paid online by Credit card / Debit card or by printed challan which can be downloaded.
  6. All admit cards will be available online.

Age criteria for senior level posts: 20 to 35 years

Salary (Pay Band) for all senior posts: 9300-34800 + GP-4600

Age criteria for Junior level posts: 18 to 35 years

Railway Recruitment Process:

1. Written exam: Question paper type: Multiple choice question. Question paper will include 60 questions from General awareness, General science, Arithmetic and reasoning and 90 questions from technical ability.

Total maximum time: 120 minutes (2 hours)

Exam Pattern: There will be negative marking. For every incorrect answer 1/3 mark of respected question will be deduct.

2. Medical Fitness Test: After written exam candidates with merit will be called for medical fitness.

RRB Syllabus:

Written exam Syllabus: Question paper will include questions from General Awareness, Arithmetic, General Intelligence and reasoning, General Science and Technical Ability.

Technical Ability Syllabus:

Syllabus Topics for Senior Posts: Basic concepts of science (class XII standard); Civil; Mechanical; Electrical; Electronics; Computers; Environment & Pollution Control; Instrumentation & Measurement and Engineering Drawing / Graphics.
