We’re thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Graphic and Web Designer who will play a crucial role in supporting our design needs. This role encompasses providing design expertise and guidance for our external product offerings as well as internal communication initiatives. We’re seeking a talented mid-level creative professional capable of upholding a consistent, high-quality brand and style across all of Thousand Currents’ products and materials.

This role will report to the Director of Communications and requires a designer with a unique, out-of-the-box creative mindset. The ideal candidate will excel in designing both print and digital materials, managing visual web content, and skillfully overseeing projects to ensure all collaborators can effectively leverage our brand for maximum impact.

1. Provide graphic design products for external and internal communications in line with Thousand Currents’ brand guidelines. 40%

• Collaborate with various teams to serve as an in-house design expert, actively participating in brainstorming, conceptualization, and the creation of innovative designs for organizational programs and initiatives.
• Take responsibility for the organization and upkeep of all graphic design files, encompassing print, digital/web, and social media. This involves updating existing templates and adding new elements as necessary.
• Oversee the entire design process, from initial rough drafts through revisions to final products, ensuring that they are customized and rigorously tested across all media platforms.
• Curate and maintain a roster of creative professionals based in the Global South who can play essential roles in producing culturally inclusive products.

2. Manage visual web content production in WordPress. 30%

• Design captivating campaign landing pages with strong visual appeal.
• Curate, edit, and enhance photos, videos, and graphics for web content.
• Ensure the ongoing maintenance of the website, including updates to the homepage and other templates.
• Collaborate with third-party developers and the IT team to address and troubleshoot website-related issues.

2. Collaborative Support: Offering assistance as necessary for organization-wide activities, including the Thousand Currents Academy, annual events, fundraising campaigns, partner visits, and similar initiatives.
