How to cook Quinoa - Pressure Cooker Method


Quinoa is rich in proteins and minerals. You can substitute rice with Quinoa. It is diabetic friendly. Also you can use it instead of rice, if you are trying to lose weight. You can read its other health benefits in this link.

I already posted a method to cook Quinoa - Open pot method. As that method needed constant monitoring and some time, I am posting this quick pressure cooker method.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup Quinoa
  • 1 and half cups water

Quick Procedure
  • First heat a pan and dry roast quinoa, until gets heated up.
  • Wash quinoa in water for 2 to 3 times.
  • Take it in a pressure cooker. Add 1 and half cups of water.
  • Pressure cook in medium flame for two whistles and turn the flame to low.
  • Cook for 1 or 2 whistles in low flame and switch off the flame.
  • Let the steam or pressure subside. Open and transfer the cooked quinoa to plate.
  • Spread over the plate and let it cool down. Soft and Fluffy Quinoa will be ready

Stepwise Pictures

After the pressure and steam subsides, open the lid.

Transfer it to a plate. Spread over the plate and let it cool down. Soft and Fluffy Quinoa will be ready
