Innovative National Catering Equipment Centre opens for business

The demand for an industry innovation hub has finally been realised after the National Catering Equipment Centre (NCEC) opened its doors for business following a successful launch event on September 19.

The 20,000 square foot facility was officially opened by Glenn Roberts, chair of trade association CESA, alongside Nisbets Group chairman Andrew Nisbet in front of 200 guests to mark the completion of a project that had been three years in the making.

Situated at the heart of the industrial centre in Bristol, NCEC is the UK’s first permanent catering equipment exhibition centre for catering businesses, professionals and dealers interested in staying abreast of the hottest trends and getting hands on with all of the latest industry equipment.

Once you make your way past an eye-catching glass-panelled frontage, you will find yourself in a vast expanse with more than 1,000 products at display stands from over 40 of the Catering Equipment industry’s leading brands.

From refrigeration, free standing and table top cooking equipment to glassware, furniture and much more, brands already partnered to showcase their products on site include: Buffalo, Burco, Churchill, Dynamic, Hoshizaki, Lincat, Olympia, Pira, Polar, Samsung, Steelite, Thor, Winterhalter and Waring.

Brand managers are on hand with expert advice on everything from microfibre cloths to microwaves, to help customers make informed purchasing decisions that will save them time and money. A state-of-the-art 100m2 development kitchen with a fully interchangeable cook line incorporating three phase, gas and electric offers an opportunity to ‘try before you buy’, while on-site development chef Dean Starling provides advice with equipment comparisons, menu development and much more.

The centre is also designed to be a hub for training and network opportunities with a fully functional and air-conditioned training suite available. The facility offers distributors an opportunity to bring sales staff or potential customers up to speed with the features and benefits of new products in a comfortable and fully practical setting.

There is also a Nisbets outlet and clearance section at the site on St Brendan’s Way in Avonmouth, Bristol.

It is easily accessible from M5 Junction 18 and a short journey from the city centre. There is free parking on site along with convenient bus and train links. For more information on the centre and how to find it, see the NCEC website.
