Constance Coleman of Coleman Law Group Featured in St. Petersburg Bar Association Publication

Constance Coleman, Esq., founder of the Coleman Law Group, was recently featured in “The Paraclete“, a bi-monthly publication of the St. Petersburg Bar Association. The focus of the January/February issue of the magazine is “Celebrating Diversity,” and discusses attitudes, beliefs, and implicit biases. Mrs. Coleman was honored to sit down with the Paraclete and share some of her story and inspiration to be a trial lawyer. Today, she is proud to be a mentor for law students and up-and-coming lawyers in Florida.

In the article, Coleman shares her background, and personal story of the devastating loss of her brother in a motorcycle accident, two years after being a trial lawyer.  Her experience through grief and advocacy for her family has allowed her to understand the situations her clients are going through. She has been in their shoes, and will never take her responsibility as an advocate lightly. Coleman says “I am 100% confident that none of us has gotten where we are in life without the support and/or encouragement of someone who made a conscious effort to help someone else.” As an advocate for the injured in her trial practice, Mrs. Coleman fights to protect the rights of her clients, whether they were involved in a car accident, truck accident, pedestrian accident, slip and fall accident, or due to the negligent supervision or care of a third party.

Part of the article discusses the ongoing challenges and issues that diverse attorneys face in Pinellas County and Florida. Coleman discusses Florida’s long history of racial division and inequality, and how being an attorney does not exempt anyone from those struggles. Coleman’s steadfast determination to advocate for her clients will never be swayed. Her long history of successful personal injury settlements in the last decade is a testament to her dedication and commitment.

Coleman also discusses her position as incoming president of the Fred G. Minnis Sr. Bar Association, which has a 20-year history of serving and supporting African American lawyers in Pinellas County. As president of the Minnis Bar, she will aim to bring like-minded lawyers together to connect and build strong and essential alliances.
