How to Encourage Entrepreneurs to Work for Your Small Business

 

We live in an entrepreneureal world. People have brilliant, innovative ideas - and they have the drive and tenacity to turn those ideas into actions.

Startups want these types of minds to Join their small businesses. You want someone who has the intellect, the attitude, and the skills that it takes to excel. But how can you Encourage Entrepreneurs to join your Small Business - rather than setting out and forming their own?

Be versatile. Offer new employees the opportunity to engage in projects that interest them. Give them freedom and creative license. Show them that they aren't just another number on your invoice roster; they are a living, breathing, and valuable entity in the structure of the company. 

Treat your employees as people - not faceless "work vessels." The startup community is often mocked for the "cool vibe" that they are trying to give off by presenting company outings, a fun and casual work environment, and perks like free lunches. But there's a reason that companies are doing it... It's working. 

Also, give your employees a mission. Show them that their is a purpose that they are trying to enact. Why does their job matter - aside from filling their bank account every two weeks? How is their job helping the company to grow? How is it helping them grow as an individual?

Lastly, share your knowledge. Entrepreneurs are born learners. They want to acquire new skills and insights, so help them with that by passing along any gems of wisdom that you have to offer.

Armed with this approach, your business will be an appealing job prospect for the biggest thinkers and doers of this generation.
