S. Gail Eckhardt and David Taylor join the University of Texas’ research division after giving a grant of over $8 million for the departments both medical experts will handle. Eckhardt is now the new head of UT’s Livestrong Cancer Institutes at the UT Dell Medical School and serve as its associate dean. The Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas gave out a grant worth $6 million to lure her to the division. Taylor, on the other hand, was also lured to UT with a $2 million state grant. TheCPRIT has also released 14 statewide grants on Wednesday including the ones for the Livestrong Cancer Institute.
