She Stayed In A Haunted Hotel Room With Her Teen Daughter, And The Paranormal Encounters She Experienced That Night Still Terrify Her To This Day

In 2008, this woman’s Daughter, Christine, who’s 31 now, was 16 and an all-star cheerleader. They traveled all over the United States from their home in Maryland so that Christine could participate in competitions.

On one occasion, she and Christine were planning to travel to Ohio for an upcoming competition, and she chose to save money by driving rather than flying.

She planned to drive about eight hours, and once they reached Ohio, they’d spend the night in a Hotel. They’d drive the remaining two hours for the cheerleading competition the following morning. After driving for eight hours, they checked in at a Marriott, which had only been built several years ago.

Once they walked into their hotel room, Christine glanced around, waltzed into the bathroom, and quickly walked out before telling her she wasn’t a fan of this room.

In response, she explained that the hotel wasn’t built that long ago, pointing out that it was cozy and clean. She didn’t comprehend why Christine wasn’t a fan of the room, but Christine reiterated the sentiment a few more times.

Later, they left the hotel to eat dinner and then returned to the room to sleep. Once more, Christine told her she wasn’t a fan of the room, and she brushed the comment off as Christine being a teen. Christine also kept the door open while using the bathroom and demanded that she not walk by, which didn’t make sense to her. She again brushed off Christine’s behavior as being teenage antics.

Eventually, Christine fell asleep in the bed to her right, and she was jealous that Christine could fall asleep so quickly. She turned on the TV and hoped she’d be able to sleep soon. Finally, after watching TV for a while, she felt sleepy and turned it off.

“I hear her rustle in those new, crisp sheets. Then, again. It was loud and crisp, almost like a ‘whoosh’ sound. I figured she was pulling those tightly tucked sheets out,” she said.

At the time, she was lying on her left side and heard the “‘whoosh'” sound again. It was incredibly loud, and she rolled over to look at Christine’s bed to find out what she was up to. She heard the sound between their two twin beds as if someone was rustling the sheets. Moments later, she saw a girl she thought was Christine standing between their beds and had thrown sheets over herself.

Understandably shocked and baffled, she immediately noticed that this girl couldn’t possibly be Christine because the figure was nearly as tall as the ceiling.

Looking at the floor, she saw no one under the sheets, but the entity was shaped like a person. All of a sudden, the figure fell onto and through the floor, disappearing with a “‘swoosh'” sound as it left.

The figure made a ripple as it disappeared, and she was terrified. She sat up in bed and started shaking before she turned on the light and saw that Christine was still fast asleep.

Still shaken by the experience, she again turned on the TV so that there was more light in the room before she turned off the light because she noticed Christine stirring in bed. Her heart was racing, and she was breathing quickly, unable to settle down.

She couldn’t fall asleep for a while and continuously looked around the room for evidence that the ghost was still around. Not long after she fell asleep, she felt someone sit on the corner of her bed, startling her awake. She was nervous and afraid but hoped it was just Christine. When she opened her eyes to check, no one was sitting on the bed. After calming down, she fell back to sleep.

“Early in the morning, before the alarm would sound, I felt someone bending down to me. Do you know how you can feel that without hearing it? And then, a kiss is planted on my cheek. I froze, popped open my eyes, and nothing was there. NOTHING! It wasn’t my daughter! At that point, it’s time to leave. So, when I wake my daughter, she said something to the effect of, ‘Good, I’m ready to go,'” she explained.

At 6 a.m., before heading to the lobby for breakfast, they grabbed their bags, planning not to return to the room. While they ate, Christine told her she didn’t sleep well, telling her she kept her awake. She felt awful and said sorry for keeping the TV on.

“Christine asks me why I kept sitting on her bed during the night and why I kissed her cheek this morning. Excuse me? What? This happened to her, too? We sat there discussing what the depression felt like, the kiss (a man), and I think she thought I was messing with her,” she shared.

To assure her daughter she wasn’t joking, she explained the levitating sheet she’d seen fall through the floor during the night, and her daughter exclaimed that she’d known the moment they entered the hotel room that there was something wrong.

Now, her daughter’s prior comments about not liking the room made sense to her. It had nothing to do with her teenage unpredictability but a feeling she had that the room was haunted.

Christine informed her that when she entered the bathroom, she knew someone passed away in there and had a sad feeling about it. She added that this was why she didn’t want to close the bathroom door. However, she never found out why her daughter hadn’t told her immediately that she thought the room was haunted.

After they talked about the encounter with the ghost, she noticed a woman at the front desk, and she wanted to find out if she’d ever heard stories about hauntings at the hotel.

The front desk clerk asked for her room number and then froze when she told her which room was theirs; she then walked into the backroom and never emerged again. She waited for five minutes, and the woman never came back out.

When she figured that she’d waited long enough, she and Christine got ready to leave the hotel and were almost at the exit when the woman peaked her head out from the door to the backroom. She had no idea whether this woman was joking around with her or not.

While she hasn’t had many paranormal encounters, this one was memorable. Even though she was horrified by the ghost she saw in the middle of the night, she didn’t have the same sad feelings Christine had. She wondered if Christine was more in tune with what happened to the ghost when she was alive.

Over the years, she has explained this story to others, but Christine doesn’t enjoy reliving the tale because she was terrified at the time. Now, a different hotel chain owns the Marriott hotel they stayed at, and she wonders how many other people saw ghosts during their stays.

Have you ever seen a ghost?
