The proven and reliable combination of electric motor and lever system is a simple and extremely reliable drive solution. This allows a short opening and closing time without the Boom Barrier bouncing in the final position. The lever system locks the boom barrier at both ends. Even in the event of a power failure, you can easily move it by hand. The complete drive system is mounted in the barrier housing as a single unit and can easily be separated from the housing by removing the mounting screws. A built-in spring mechanism provides the boom barrier with precise balance. The spring must be factory set to accommodate the length of the boom before shipping. Depending, for example, if the boom barrier has been shortened or if the boom has signs attached, the springs can easily be reset in the field during assembly. It is also easy to change the on-site handling from the right axis to the left axis.
The barrier is driven by a torque motor mounted on a central cast aluminum support. The support also includes drive shaft bearings, gearbox, and counterbalance spring mounts. Torque motors are designed for alternating current. No limit switch or friction clutch is required. It is maintenance-free and can be stopped in any position without damage. In the end position, the motor remains powered and mechanically locks the boom barrier via the lever system. This minimizes power consumption. This power is dissipated in the form of heat, preventing condensation and corrosion. This ensures reliable and problem-free operation, especially in cold climate conditions. The built-in position sensor provides accurate boom barrier status information to the associated controller. The self-learning control unit ensures optimal braking without the boom barrier bouncing or swaying from its final position. The barrier is factory wired and tested, ready to connect and comes with all necessary mounting accessories.
The high quality, rugged housing is manufactured from 2mm zinc phosphate steel and powder coated with RAL 2000 (orange) for bleaching and no negative environmental impact. The control unit is mounted on a removable galvanized steel panel. The components inside the barrier housing are easily accessible through the maintenance door and removable top cover.
