Terror-related cases: SIA files chargesheet against former minister Babu Singh

On Saturday, numerous searches were conducted in Kashmir by the Jammu and Kashmir State Investigation Agency (SIA), an investigative organisation modeled after the National Investigation Agency, in connection with a case involving a narco-Terrorist nexus.

The raids were conducted in Kupwara, Budgam, and Srinagar. An SIA official stated that the searches were carried out as part of an investigation into narco-terrorists who are smuggling hard narcotics from Pakistan and selling them in J&K and other regions of the nation in order to fund their terrorist activities.

The SIA reported that during the searches, incriminating items such as a digital scale, mobile phones, electronic devices, vital papers, bank accounts, digital evidence, and other items with an impact on the case’s investigation were confiscated.

In order to facilitate terrorist actions in J&K, banned terrorist organization(s) across the border, according to the SIA, are using a variety of means and tactics to give terrorists logistical support. The SIA stated that one method involved smuggling consignments of heroin, brown sugar, and other illegal goods worth lakhs of rupees into the Valley through their overground personnel, conduits, sponsors, and other terror sympathisers.

According to the SIA, these consignments are being sold in marketplaces or being smuggled into other regions of the nation for sale, and the money earned is being used to fund terrorist groups, terrorists, secessionists, and overground employees to facilitate terrorist operations.

Along with Mr. Singh, Muhammad Shareef Shah from Larnoo in Anantnag and Muhammad Hussain Khateeb from Bhaderwah in Doda were also mentioned in the chargesheet in a case that was filed at Gandhi Nagar in Jammu.

The Jammu police detained Shah and recovered Rs 6,90,000  money that was “meant for Singh.” “The funds were earmarked for Mr. Babu’s party, the Nature Mankind Friendly Global Party, to use for its anti-national operations. According to the SIA, Singh maintained contact with JKLF separatists and Hizb-Ul-Mujahideen terrorists, two illegal organisations.

According to the SIA, the accused Singh’s party called for the unification of J&K, PoK, and Gilgit Baltistan as one sovereign nation by creating a condominium between Pakistan and India and sharing control of the finances, currency, and external relations.

According to the SIA, Singh conducted online meetings and interviews with adversaries and likened terrorist Maqbool Bhat to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev in his online speech.

Singh had warned the Indian government to stop further destabilize Jammu and Kashmir in one of these internet interviews; he alluded to the repeal of Article 370. The SIA added that anti-national and extremely inflammatory information found on Singh’s phone “establishes his desire to harm and endanger the unity, integrity, and sovereignty of India.”
