Morgan Hefley Involved in Fatal Crash on 25 Freeway in Denver
DENVER, CO (September 25, 2023) – The Denver Police Department held 23-year-old Morgan Hefley and arrested 32-year-old Paul Espinosa after a fatal crash on 25 Freeway on September 16.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the crash happened at 8th Avenue around 2:35 AM. Based on a report, Hefley was driving against traffic near 8th Avenue at the time of the crash.
She then crashed into a vehicle traveling northbound on the freeway. Then, a third vehicle crashed into a DPD patrol vehicle.
As a result, the driver of the northbound vehicle suffered injuries and died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
Crews took the vehicle’s passenger to the hospital with serious injuries.
Hefley also sustained serious injuries. Police held her for investigation of vehicular homicide.
The officer who was inside the patrol car at the time of the second crash did not sustain serious injuries.
Police arrested 32-year-old Paul Espinosa, the driver of the third vehicle, for investigation of DUI.
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
