7: Views on religion

I believe that my views on Religion is very liberal in the sense that these days I do think that religion is very misunderstood. Daily do I hear that muslims are at fault for all the evil in the world, and the this place would be better if religion never existed. This I do not believe to be true. I live on this planet to, I read the news, I travel the world, I meet people. I'm intelligent enough to notice that a muslim will be called a terrorist while a christian will be called mentally ill for the exact same crime, that those who see the most of the world have more of an open mind than those who do not see anything at all. The truth is, whether we are religious or not, we all come from the same place, the planet Earth and we all belong to human race. Whether we believe in anything or not, we should all have the brains to understand that we are all different and we all deserve the air we breath. Where there is religion, theres God and it is in many cases a personal choice to believe in God just like everything else, but I personally do not think that God is just some man who created Earth and now lives on a cloud up in heaven. For me God is a someone or a something that I go to for comfort, when I feel alone and need some higher guidance. It gives me security to think that even at the loneliest of times am I never alone. When someone says that the world will be better off without religion, is in my opinion where the problem is. I find it beautiful that people believe in different things, and have theories about all the unknown, it is when ignorant minds can't be open to others opinions and beliefs that it turns dangerous. In today's world it is important to learn the difference between religious people and extremist people. That is where the thin line is. ISIS and all terrorist groups do not bomb and destroy because they pray to a specific God or follow a specific holy book, but because they can't simply see the beauty of the rest of the world that is in front of them and it is absolutely heartbreaking. A very outspoken quote that I find so empowering is "with guns you can kill terrorists, with education you can kill terrorism" by Malala Yousafzai. I know so many people from so many different religions and beliefs who are equally as beautiful and would never hurt a soul. This planet will never find peace unless we learn to respect each other and agree to disagree.
