The discord between Arijit Singh and Salman Khan originated at an award function in 2014, hosted by Salman himself.
Attired in casual attire, Arijit took the stage to receive an award when Salman jokingly inquired, “Were you sleeping?” Arijit responded, “You all put me to sleep.” Salman retorted, stating that it’s not their fault if songs like Tum Hi Ho continue to resonate.
Subsequent to this incident, Arijit Singh’s musical contributions were omitted from Salman’s cinematic endeavors, encompassing films such as Sultan and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. In 2016, Singh extended a public apology, urging Salman Khan to retain his rendition of the song in Sultan. However, Salman remained steadfast in his decision, and the song was ultimately performed by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
