When it comes to playing real-life heroes on cinema, Akshay Kumar has always been a fantastic choice. The account of how Jaswant Singh Gill, Additional Chief Mining Engineer, saved 65 workers from a dangerously flooded coal mine in West Bengal’s Raniganj in 1989, when everyone had given up hope for their life, is told in the book “Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue.”
The film depicted a true-life tale with lots of action, family strife, passion, and yes, love. How local government politics and fighting put the lives of innocent people in peril.

In addition to Akshay and Parineeti, “Mission Raniganj” has a fantastic supporting ensemble that excels in character acting, including Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, Ravi Kishan, Varun Badola, Jameel Khan, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya. The moving narrative will have your attention the entire time despite some nerve-racking turns.

The gritty evacuation drama deserves praise and should be on everyone’s watch list, even though there are some clichés in it and the writers might have done a better job.
