Orly Goldschmidt, spokesperson for the Israeli Embassy in the UK, contended that Hamas was obstructing the movement of Gaza's civilians along a designated "safe corridor" to the south. She stated that Hamas was physically blocking their passage, creating a significant problem.

US President Joe Biden, despite his staunch support for Israel, urged the nation to remember that the vast majority of Palestinians had no affiliation with Hamas and its actions. Russia likened Israel's siege of Gaza to the Nazi siege of Leningrad.

Lord Kim Darroch, former British ambassador to the US and a former UK national security adviser, argued that Gazans needed more time to evacuate. He predicted that the Israeli ground offensive would fail to eliminate Hamas and expressed concern about the radicalization of the next generation of Palestinian fighters.

Tory MP Crispin Blunt raised the concern that the UK might be complicit in war crimes in Gaza and could face legal action if it failed to do more to "restrain" Israel, emphasizing that complicity in such actions carries significant legal consequences.
