The 9th edition of the Dream city art festival in Tunisia is featuring a performance by Congolese photographer Sammy Baloji that explores the history of the Kongo Kingdom. Baloji's work focuses on themes such as politics, slavery, and the evangelization of Africa, challenging the Belgian propaganda that claims Belgium brought civilization to the Congo. The performance, called Missa Luba, is a collaboration with poet Fiston Mwanza Mujila, and musicians Barbara Drazkov and Pytshens Kambilo. It will also be performed in Brussels next year. The Dream city festival aims to engage with the city and its inhabitants through various artistic mediums.
