While the average height for most black people is 5 feet 9 Inches, many popular celebrities are shorter than average. This has proven that height isn’t a barrier to success. Here’s the list of the seven shortest black celebrities.

Kevin Hart – 5 Feet 2 Inches

Born on July 6, 1979, in Philadelphia, PA, Kevin Hart is an African-American comedian and Actor. Although not exactly the shortest African-American celebrity, he’s among them. Kevin Hart is by far below the average height of many celebrities in the entertainment industry. His height is 5 feet 2 inches. Many of his comic movies are available on Amazon.  

Tony Cox – 3 Feet 6 Inches

Joseph Anthony Cox is an African-American actor known for his roles in Bad Santa, Friday, Me, and Myself & Irene. He’s height is 3 ft 6 in, which places him among the shortest black celebrities. Many of Toy Cox’s movies are available on Amazon, which makes them accessible to the global audience.

Billy Joel – 5 Feet 5 Inches

Aged 74 years, William Martin Joel is an African-American singer, songwriter, and pianist. He was nicknamed  “Piano Man” after the release of his signature 1973 song of the same name. William Martin Joel has had a successful music career as a solo artist since the 1970s.

Osita Iheme (Pawpaw) – 4 Feet 3 Inches

Born in 1982 in Mbatoli, Nigeria, Osita Iheme is an actor and producer. He’s popularly known for playing the role of Pawpaw in the movie Aki na Ukwa alongside Chinedu Ikedieze (Aki). Osita is considered to be one of  Nigeria’s most famous actors.

Chinedu Ikedieze (Aki) – 4 Feet 3 Inches

Chinedu Ikedieze is a Nigerian actor, investor, and entrepreneur. He’s popularly known for playing alongside Pawpaw after their breakthrough movies as dou in the movie Aki na Ukwa. 

Chinedu Ikedieze has starred in more than 50 movies for an acting career spanning 20 years. His height is 4 feet 3 inches, which places him among our seven short black actors.

Joe Rogan –  5 Feet 7 Inches

Joe Rogan is an African-American stand-up comic, actor, UFC color commentator, podcaster, and former television host. Joe was born in New Jersey and started his career in comedy in 1988 in the Boston area. 

After moving to Los Angeles in 1994, he signed a deal with Disney and starred as an actor on NewsRadio, Hardball, and many others. In 1997, he began to work for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) as a color commentator and an interviewer. 

Joe Rogan has been active in the entertainment industry from 1988 till present. His height is 5 feet 7 inches, making him one of our seven short black actors.

Martin Lawrence – 5 Feet 7 Inches

Born on April 16, 1965, Martin Lawrence is an African-American actor and comedian. He became popular during the 1990s. 

Martin Lawrence started his acting career playing Maurice Warfield in What’s Happening Now!! After he kicked things off, he starred in Do the Right Thing, Talkin’ Dirty After Dark, and many others. 

He isn’t tall, but that was never a disadvantage to him. His height is 5 feet 7 inches, making him one of the shortest black celebrities. His movies are available on Amazon. You can watch a couple of them to see how talented Martin Lawrence is. 

While being short has its disadvantages, it turns out that it can’t stop anyone from achieving success on the big stage. The seven short black actors covered here have proven that you can be whatever you want, irrespective of your color, identity, and height.
