UK Prime Minister Participates in New Holland Agriculture Program

New Holland Agriculture ProgramThe farm at Writtle University College (WUC) was recently visited by UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, a brand of CNH Industrial. The New Holland engineering apprentices were overjoyed to receive the Prime Minister (PM), who visited them for a hands-on tractor maintenance session.

The Prime Minister paid a visit to the Essex campus to speak with students about their interest in the food and farming industries. The apprentices talked with the PM about the workshop while exhibiting their knowledge of farm machinery. These programs address the skills need for expert engineers in the agriculture sector through a partnership initiated by CNH with WUC in 2022. All of the apprentices are currently employed with New Holland Agriculture’s local dealerships around the United Kingdom.

“We are proud to be working alongside both WUC and Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) in delivering and supporting these apprenticeship courses within the land-based education sector,” said David Rapkins, New Holland Agriculture Business Director UK & ROI. Our goal is to foster and develop a strong future workforce of professional agricultural engineers.”

Rishi Sunak’s acknowledgement and hands-on engagement in this scheme demonstrates the prestige of the program and CNH’s strong dedication to agricultural education for young people, and he is proud to have been visited by the Prime Minister. Education in pioneering AgTech is now and will be a significant goal in programs like the one at WUC and elsewhere in the UK (CNH also operates a similar initiative in Scotland at SRUC Oatridge campus).
