The subdivisions of Kenya have been in place since 2010, replacing the old system. Under the Constitution of 2010 and other reforms to Provincial Administration the country acquired a new system of Counties. The previous Provinces were scrapped and the 46 Districts, in existence since 1992, were turned into Counties with elected governments.

The divisions are then subdivided into 2,427 locations (mtaa) and then 6,612 sublocations (mtaa mdogo)

3 Present the thoughts, suggestions, and proposals of the people to the county assembly in order to represent them.

4 Make a connection between the assembly and the general public about the provision of public services. Healthcare, agriculture, water, and preschool instruction are a few examples of these services.

5 Applying their  professional expertise, life experience, or specialized knowledge to any topic the county assembly will be discussing.

What is MCA Salaries in Kenya?

According to a recent gazette notice by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC), an MCA earns a salary of Ksh 144,375 per month. This includes a basic salary of Ksh 86,625, a house allowance of Ksh 45,000 and a market adjustment of Ksh 12,750.

Per diem for domestic and international travel costs, on average, Ksh 150,000 per month. A Kenyan MCA typically makes a gross salary of Ksh 365,000. However, this sum can be more depending on how many sessions he attends.
