The tent of Washah and his family reflects the misery life experienced by hundreds of thousands of Displaced people in tents spread throughout the small city of Rafah, which currently houses, according to local and international estimates, more than half of the total population of Gazans, who number 2.2 million people.

The tragedy of Washah and those displaced to the city of Rafah was deepened by the rainy and extremely cold winter weather.

This forty-year-old displaced person told Al Jazeera Net, “We live here without the basic necessities of life…no sanitation, and we get water from long distances, and this nylon does not protect us from cold or rain.”

This small coastal sector has been affected for a few days by a strong polar wave, accompanied by heavy rains and severe cold, especially during the night hours, as a result of which the tents of the displaced people sank and were torn apart by the winds.

Al Jazeera Net toured the Washah tent, inside which bodies pile up and cling to each other at night, not only seeking warmth, but also due to the lack of space or blankets that meet the needs of this large family.

Weshah describes a bleak picture of the displacement tent, and he does not stop praying for a near end to the Israeli war, which is about to enter its fifth month in a row.
