However, he did see two men who knew his girlfriend under the Baltimore Bridge. He asked those men about his girlfriend’s whereabouts. However, they did not reveal the details about her, which was a grave mistake in their life. 

Joe Metheny, who was boiling with rage, smacked the men with an axe. Also, he did not stop with it but also killed the fisherman who saw this incident. After realizing what he has done, he panics and disposes of the bodies in the river. The first three murders by Joe Metheny are crimes of passion.
