Before we get into where to find the best Wix templates for your blog or website, I thought I’d answer a few questions you may have.
What is a Wix template?
A Wix template is the design of your Wix site, already made. All you have to do is fill in your own text and photos. The hard work is already done for you! There is so much involved to designing every part of your Wix website from scratch – the navigation menu, pages, colors, forms, photos, mobile theme… the list goes on! If you didn’t use a template you’d probably be working on it for months.
Wix have templates available to choose from on their site, however if you want something extra special you can purchase a Wix template from a designer like myself!
What happens when I buy a Wix template?
With a Wix template purchase, it’s transferred to your Wix account as a brand new site to work on. You’re not able to transfer a current Wix site you have to a new template in your account. You have to start from scratch.
If you do already have a Wix site with lots of products and/or blog posts, luckily I have a service available for you. I can install a Wix template to your current site. Alternatively, if you don’t care much for your current Wix site but it’s connected to your domain, you can simply point your domain to your new Wix site.
You can run a website for free with Wix. If you do, you will always have the Wix ad banner at the top of your site and you have to have a Wix URL (yourblog.wixsite.com). Everyone can see that you’ve made your site with Wix. However when you purchase a plan at Wix, they will remove the banner ad at the top and you can connect your domain. Nobody will have a clue what platform you used to create your website (which is what you want).
