When Audrey asked Fran what change has he seen in the industry with the entrance of younger groups, Fran said, “We are seeing patients being more adventurous with medspa services. It’s the younger market that’s willing to try something new, whether that’s a new filler or toxin.” Fran later elaborated that years ago, it was more difficult for new entries to take off in this industry. The openness of millennials is contributing to the growth of the medical aesthetic industry. “We are also seeing that at medspas, more and more brand names are being asked for by brand name.”
Fran shares, “At Acara Partners, we are often asked, ‘Isn’t the market getting saturated?’ No, the market is not saturated. Let’s put it this way: If you have 100 medspas, 50 are no good; 25 of them are not really doing it right; the other 25: those are your competitors. Don’t look at the overall market, look at the ones that are doing it right.”
