"The Coolest Thing You'll See All Week" is a two-parter dedicated to the late, great Tom Petty. He could be the coolest guy ever so it all kinda makes sense. And yesterday would have been Tom's 67th birthday (October 20th).
PART I: Tom Petty and friend and fellow entertainer, Garry Shandling, shootin' the breeze at Petty's home studio in the late-'90s.
The footage offers a rare glimpse into Tom's personal life and creative mind. The interaction between Petty and Shandling (who died last year at the age of 66) is at times hilarious and at others, awkward. All the while Tom is chain-smoking cigarettes, and drinking god knows what.
PART II: Here's video of Tom (with Stevie Nicks) performing "Learning to Fly." It'll move you.
