Last night reports were rife that TV actor Karan Patel will soon leave his ongoing daily soap Yeh Hai Mohabbatein to take part in adventure-based reality series Khatron Ke Khiladi. The actor, who plays Raman Bhalla in the daily soap, is apparently taking a break from the show produced by Ekta Kapoor. Interestingly, a little birdie close to the development informed us that Karan will be replaced by telly actor Chaitanya Choudhary. "Chaitanya signed the contract after his budget was locked," a source informed us last night. And when we tried to dig further, another source revealed, "Karan Patel is not getting replaced. There's no conversation on that yet."
Amidst all the confusion, we called the actor himself to clarify the rumours. Karan, despite being busy, spoke to us briefly. The actor negated the widely spread rumour and maintained that he is very much a part of the daily series and is not getting replaced. "No, that's all rumours. I'm very much part of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein," denied Karan and went on to claim that no one is stepping into his shoes for the show.
With Karan confirming that he is not going anywhere, it is definitely a big relief for fans of the show. However, what about the rumours? Our conjecture is that for time being Chaitanya Choudhary will be entering the show to play a prominent character in Patel's absence. However, the makers aren't planning to replace him.
EXCLUSIVE! Sad news for Yeh Hai Mohabbatein fans as spin-off gets scrapped
The current track of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein features Raman Bhalla's apparent death in an aeroplane crash. The writers are using the accident to cover-up for Patel's absence.
