Bilaigarh Constituency, Chhattisgarh Assembly Election 2023: Bilaigarh is one of the 90 Legislative Assembly constituencies of Chhattisgarh. According to the Election Commission’s (EC) schedule of events, the first phase of polling for 20 seats in Chhattisgarh will be held on November 7, with the remaining 70 seats in Chhattisgarh going to polls on November 17. The counting of votes will be on December 3. The term of the 90-member Chhattisgarh Assembly ends on January 3, 2024.
Going by the Chhattisgarh assembly elections 2023 schedule, the last date for withdrawal of candidatures for phase 1 is October 23. In 2018, Chandradev Prasad Rai of the Indian National Congress won the seat by defeating Shyam Kumar Tandan of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) with a margin of 9847 votes. Meanwhile, in 2013, Dr. Sanam Jangre of the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) won the seat by defeating Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahariya of the INC with a margin of 12,695 votes.
Speaking of Chhattisgarh Assembly Election Result(2008), Dr Shiv Kumar Dahriya of the INC won the seat by defeating Dr Sanam Jangade of the BJP with a margin of 13,622 votes.
