The President pleaded with Congress to approve what is anticipated to be $100 billion in fresh funds while stating that "chaos will spread." Congressional Republicans are already opposing this funding because they are leery of handing any more money to Ukraine.
In his 15-minute speech, Biden claimed that while Hamas and Russian President Vladimir Putin "represent different threats," they work toward the same end and are both responsible for the murderous attack on Israel on October 7.
They both aim to completely destroy a democratic neighbor," he added.
If terrible actors like Putin are allowed to behave without consequence, Biden sounded the alarm that "would-be aggressors around the world would be emboldened to try the same."
"There is a possibility that conflict and anarchy would extend to other regions of the world, particularly the Middle East and the Indo-Pacific."
He then pointed out Iran as yet another link between Israel and Ukraine.
According to Biden, "Iran is backing both Russia in the Ukraine and Hamas and other terrorist organizations in the area." And, I would add, "We will keep holding them accountable."
"American leadership is what binds the globe together," he concluded.
The alliances of America are what keep us, the United States, safe. Other countries want to cooperate with us because of the American principles, he claimed.
It simply isn't worth it to risk all of that if we abandon Israel and withdraw from the Ukraine.
The president explained that Putin won't "limit himself to Ukraine" because of his "appetite for power and control," which could lead to a battle involving NATO nations.
We "will have something we do not seek," cautioned Biden if that occurred.
We don't want American soldiers fighting in Russia or against Russia, he declared.
As part of his additional commitments, the president assured the relatives of the captives taken prisoner by Hamas in Israel on October 7 that "we are pursuing every avenue to return their loved ones home."
The protection of the Americans taken hostage is his top priority as president, he declared.
He stated that "the terrorists of Hamas released pure unadulterated evil in the world," noting that "there is no end to the depravity of humans when they desire to inflict suffering on others."
Additionally, Biden urged for the delivery of international aid to Gaza, where Palestinian civilians are in need while Hamas launches rockets at Israel.
According to Biden, he and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke about the urgent necessity for Israel to follow the laws of war at their meeting on Wednesday in Tel Aviv.
According to Biden, "it involves safeguarding people in war as best they can." He said, "The people of Gaza urgently need food, water, and medicine."
Additionally, Biden urged the Israeli leadership to avoid becoming "blinded by wrath."
The president claimed to have "got an agreement for the first shipment of humanitarian assistance from the United Nations to Palestinian people in Gaza" following talks with Netanyahu and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
We're going to create a pathway for sustained delivery of life-saving humanitarian aid for the Palestinians if Hamas does not divert or seize this shipment, these shipments,' Biden added.
We cannot give up on peace, he continued. We must continue to pursue a two-state solution.
In the wake of Tuesday's hospital explosion in Gaza, Biden's face-to-face meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas was postponed; nevertheless, the two still spoke over the phone while aboard Air Force One.
According to Biden, he "reiterated that the United States remains committed to the right to dignity and to self-determination of the Palestinian people."
Biden stated, "The activities Hamas took don't take that right away."
The 'tragic loss of Palestinian life' in Gaza, particularly at the hospital, the president stated, left him "heartbroken."
In support of remarks he made on Wednesday in which he blamed an errant rocket fired by a different terror group, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, he said, "which was not done by the Israelis."
