Taapsee Pannu built a reputation as an actress who carefully chooses her scripts.  She makes sure the movies on which she chooses to work have a message for the society.  Her films have the tendency to make the audience think and reflect about their actions. She appeared in films like Mission Mangal, Badla and Pink, which were critically acclaimed.

Her next project is titled Thappad and Taapsee Pannu released the first look poster on her Twitter handle.  The poster shows the face of Taapsee Pannu right after she is slapped and has text in Hindi which translates to “Such a small issue?”  Taapsee Pannu’s caption read, “Kya yeh bas itni si baat hai?  Kya pyaar mein ye bhi jayaz hai? (Is this such a small issue?  Is this justified in the name of love?)”

Thappad will be directed by Anubhav Sinha and will star Taapsee Pannu and Pavail Gulati.  Taapsee Pannu and Anubhav Sinha previously collaborated for the film Mulk, which was about a Muslim family trying to reclaim their honour after a family member gets involved in terrorism.

Thappad is slated to be released on February 28th, 2020.  The first look poster attracted multiple comments from Taapsee Pannu’s fans, with many saying they are looking forward to watching the film.  The trailer of Thappad will be released tomorrow.
