Exploring the new religions of Nature on the North American continent, this blog brings together interests in Paganism, Druidry and Religious Naturalism. Our world faces the gravest environmental crisis humanity has ever faced, with climate change wrecking havoc to our weather patterns, the sixth great extinction of species, the destruction of many ecosystems, and the polluting of our water, air and land. Doing theology in the Anthropocene is unlike any other era in that we face the potential ecological collapse of our natural world. Increasingly people are declaring the sacredness of nature and drawing inspiration from indigenous peoples across the globe. As a European American, I look to the pr-Christian Pagan religions of Old Europe, including Celtic, Anglo-Saxons and Norse traditions. While inspired by pre-modern traditions I advance theology grounded in the cosmology and worldview of modern science based on empirical methodologies.
