Scientists have discovered three telltale Proteins that could lead to the development of a simple blood test for Ovarian Cancer. These proteins, known as extracellular vesicles (EVs), were extracted from the most common type of ovarian cancer using nanowires coated with a special chemical. The proteins could be used as biomarkers for the early detection of ovarian cancer, allowing for earlier diagnosis and treatment. Currently, only a third of cases are caught early, but the discovery of these proteins opens up the possibility of a new diagnostic tool.
