Yeah, it is that time of the year. As 2018 crawls to an end, let us take a deep breath and take a look back at the year went by. And to what it offered to us.

In what seems to a much-awaited yearly ritual, Google released its Year In Search 2018. Well, understandable and fair enough, the overall top spot is bagged by the keyword FIFA World Cup 2018 in both global as well as Indian trend.

However, the similarity with global trend ends right here as we Indians have our own problems to handle and own searches to search. Like “how to link Aadhaar with mobile number” can find a spot in top searches only in India and so does “what is Section 77.”

While Indians got greatly perturbed by that internet-breaking eye wink, they were found to be equally curious over the hullabaloo over Me Too campaign. Here are some keywords that trended in 2018 as per Google Year In Search 2018:

• FIFA World Cup 2018 (Overall):

While FIFA World Cup 2018  was the most searched keyword overall,  it seems that cricket score also kept many Indian minds restless. While “Live Score” bagged the second spot, “IPL 2018” was not very much behind.

• Robot 2.0 (Movies):

Rajnikanth is still the king. Robot 2.0 was the most searched movie in 2018. Baaghi 2 and Race 3 lagged behind and so did Avengers Infinity War.

• Priya Prakash Varrier (Personalities):

Remember one cold February morning when we got up to that million dollar wink? Well, it turns out that Indians could not get enough of it and looked for Priya Prakash Varrier crazily, making her the top most searched personality in 2018.  The second spot holder- musician Nick Jonas also triggered Indian brain, not due to his music, but due to his relationship, later engagement and much later marriage with our own Desi girl Priyanka Chopra, who by the way is fourth most searched personality.

Any guesses who managed to squeeze in between Nick Jonas and PeeCee? It is Sapna Choudhary!

• How To Send Stickers On WhatsApp (How to…):

It seems that WhatsApp’s recent update to add quirky stickers to its widely popular chat app has created quite a buzz among Indian users as ‘how to send stickers on WhatsApp’ ended up the most how-to search keyword. ‘How to link Aadhar Card with mobile number’ and ‘how to make Rangoli’ continued to rule Indian minds.

• What Is Section 377 (What is…):

The historic ruling of Supreme Court in September when it scrapped Section 377 might have triggered the wave of curiosity as Indian users flocked to internet making “what is Section 377” most searched topic in what-is.
