How do you fit exercise into your life?

I’ve learned from my wife that mornings are the key. Every hour that goes by provides a smaller percentage of a chance that a workout will happen.

Favorite form of exercise and why:

As a certified cycling instructor I’m partial to the Peloton cycling workouts (Tabata or HIIT), but also like weight lifting and ran a marathon a few years ago. I would not say running is anywhere near a favorite, but it will produce the needed weight loss as a last resort.

Favorite body part to work, and how you work that part:

Chest/Shoulders. I like Lateral Pull-downs

Go-to healthy meal:

My wife makes a bomb kale salad, a recipe she uses from her girlfriend, JuJu Harris’ cookbook . It comes with its own dressing. She’s won competitions with it!

What’s your eating style?

After taking time off from the gym, my weight got up to 243 lb. I recently started Intermittent Fasting and only eating between the hours 12 pm and 8 pm. I’m down quickly to 219, and I see it as something I can continue for life as my goal is to get back down to 197.

Why is it important to you to be a fit father?

My health helps me earn more time with my daughters and wife.

Best fitness tip you want to share that works for you.

My best tip is to weigh yourself daily and use any app to log EVERYTHING you eat. What gets managed, gets improved.

Best way to describe fatherhood:

Fatherhood is legacy building. When I leave this earth, people will say I loved hard. As a homeschooling family, we are making the sacrifice to spend quality time pouring into our girls and being the greatest influence in their lives.
