There comes a time in the year where everyone drops what they are doing to focus on a particular Fashion event. It is undoubtedtly the most important event in the fashion world’s calendar. This February was no different! Social media was abuzz with some of the most happening moments that attracted media attention during the most prestigious fashion event in the country, Lakmé Fashion Week’17.

From gorgeous new Mom Kareena Kapoor Khan to Sushmita Sen’s divaesque appearance, LFW SS’17 had all the indgridients of an exciting event. No wonder it has been the talk of tinsel town and the fashion world alike!

This year’s race to grace saw some spectacular showstoppers such as Preity Zinta, Aditi Rao Hydari, Vaani Kapoor, and debutante Disha Patani. This time around, LFW had creations that dazzled the ramp with sparkle and originality. Breathtaking collections were showcased by fashion gurus like Kunal Rawal, Tarun Tahiliani, Anita Dongre, Santosh Parekh, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Ritu Kumar, Quirk box, and many others. Their outfits were a reflection of their signature styles, which were translated through their exclusive collections. Every year, there are unique moments and themes that become the talking point of LFW, and this year was no different.

Here are our Top 4 Moments that made LFW SS’17 even more special:

Trendy Sleeves

This season, we saw several new designs revolving around the arm area with ruffles, billows and lacy trims, that were brought forth in the GenNext show. Design elements from capped sleeves to bell-shaped sleeves were the ones spinning the new trends. The new style surely received a thumbs up from the fashion critics!

Bollywood Glitterati

Just like last time, B-town celebs were at their very best.
Kicking LFW SS’17 off in style, Day 1 saw Varun Dhawan in a showstopper avatar as he set the ramp on fire for Kunal Rawal’s show. Diva Sonakshi Sinha turned showstopper as she appeared in a classic one-shoulder satin gown featuring a long trail. Yesteryears ‘Cadbury girl’, the bubbly Preity Zinta stole the limelight in her Desi look as she walked the ramp for Sanjukta Dutta. But the icing on the cake- new mom Kareena Kapoor Khan who looked nothing short of a million bucks at the Anita Dongre LFW SS’17 grand finale!

Gender Equipoise

This year, history was made at LFW SS’17. For the first time in history, a transgender model made it to a fashion event in India. Nepal’s Anjali Lama walked the ramp in a glistening gold gown for Jaising’s show.

Varun-Arjun Bromance

LFW SS’17 saw some major bromance between Varun Dhawan & Arjun Kapoor as they walked the ramp together. After completing his first round of the ramp, Varun removed his koti and gave it to Arjun. Arjun took it in his hand and walked along with him and Kunal, and later continued to spoof while on the ramp. They went ahead and lifted Kunal as he smiled and got the better part of the “on-stage Bromance”.

Breaking all stereotypes, LFW SS’17 truly stood for something more special than just fashion. Gender equality, creativity and uniqueness brought a whole new dimension to this prestigious event.
