The box left Tokyo on 29th of January and reached me on 11th February, so it basically took 13 days to reach India from Japan. • Tyrant Habanero Who Came Back!

These crunchy rings are delicious and dangerously addictive. Enjoy the spice of real habanero peppers and the rush of a hot and salty treat. The crunch will pull you in, but the real pepper flavor might have you running for a glass of water. Enjoy, but beware!

This snack tasted a lot like "Kurkure" snack we get in India. It wasn't as spicy as I had imagined after reading that it contains Habanero peppers. I have very high capacity of eating spicy stuff so this snack didn't make me run for a glass of water. :P It is actually far better than Kurkure because it doesn't has that "plastic" like crunch in it. I'm missing this snack now!!!! :(

• Yokai-Watch Character Soft-Serve Ice Cream

Recent years in Japan there has been a huge surgery of popularity in monsters and ghouls, especially highlighted through the hit show Yokai Watch. This caramel corn is hosted by one of the popular characters from this show (see package), infused with soft-serve ice cream favor, too! Could this be the work of monsters?

It is a semi-sweet snack. Melts in the mouth in seconds. Wish it was a little more sweeter!

• Yokai-Watch Fortune Seal Namaste Curry

In Japan, there is a custom to buy a special paper fortune to predict what the New Year may bring and receive a fortune blessing at a shrine. These fortunes have been attached to this delightfully savory curry snack, from the hit anime series Yokai Watch, and the character Geragerapo! Wishing you the best fortune!

This one has a savory, curry-like flavour. It'd be loved by kids since it isn't spicy, yet has a delicious taste! I wasn't able to Read my fortune because it was written in Japanese. :P

Rating - 5/5

• Winter Pocky

Because the Coconut Pocky we offered in the summer was so popular, we couldn't resist sharing this treat. Enjoy the delightful taste of biscuit and chocolate, dipped in decadent cocoa powder for a layered experience. This special, limited-edition Pocky snack is just for you!

Pocky is a very popular stick snack of Japan which comes in various flavors. The one I received is of chocolate flavour. It's basically a biscuit stick dipped in rich quality chocolate. The packaging of this snack is very sturdy.

• Oekaki Kyanland Candy

• Neru Neru Nerune Soda Flavor

These 2 are DIY kits and I'm going to do a separate blog post/instagram post for them!

• Pokemon Ramune 5 Pack

From the hit anime and game franchise, Pokemon, these tasty snacks come in various shapes and tastes. Pineapple, cola, soda, grape and five types of melon flavors to be enjoyed. There is even a few hidden monsters including Pikachu in the package, How many can you find and catch!?

I remember having similar candies a few years back, I guess they were from Canada. These candies kinda look like medicines and have a sour taste. :P I liked Pineapple one the most.

• Fuku Fuku Tai Chocolate

In Japan, there has been a long time custom to enjoy the fresh taste of sea bream during the New Year, and because of that many Thailand dishes are enjoyed. Resembling the "Pukupuku" feel of Thailand, these bream-shaped chocolate confectioneries offer a sweet and simple treat for the New Year.

This snack consists of a thin layer of bream (fish) shaped wafer which has a filling of bubbly chocolate.

• Pokemon Chewing Candy

Another Pokemon dessert treat from us to you! Each piece of candy has a special monster seal on the wrapper that can be transferred onto skin or paper like a temporary tattoo. Additionally, there is a monster quiz on the wrapping, as well. Enjoy the sweet flavor of Pineapple chew with Pokemon and TokyoTreat!

It has a pack of 5 Pineapple flavoured candies that actually look like gum sticks. Later I realized that they're just extra-chewy candies! :D

• Chocolate Ball Peanut

These special snacks have been a popular staple for Japanese living for many years, and can be found in a lot of the amazing snack shops across the country. Enjoy a simple treat of whole peanuts coated in delicious chocolate. You won't be able to forget this snack, or the adorable bird mascot!

I'm not a fan of chocolate + peanut combo, but many Indians love such snacks. I prefer Masala (spices) coated peanuts more. The chocolate coating was nice and delicious though. ^_^

• Pokemon Wafers

A Yummy wafer that is shaped like various pocket monsters from the hit franchise, Pokemon. Up to 24 different possibilities of monsters, which will you get!? The Pikachu one is said to be the rarest and you also get a special character picture with your snack. Rare Pokemon Get!

It's a square shaped wafer treat which tastes just like Fuku Fuku Tai Chocolate. I don't see the point of adding 2 similar tasting treats in a single box. It tasted good anyways.

• Pokemon Sticker-Matching Chewing Gum

Yet another awesome Pokemon treat! Large piece of chewing gum in the vibrant and sweet flavor of cola. The wrappings have a special collection game where you can solve a puzzle with the monster seals you receive. Have a blast and don't chew too hard!

I won't consider it a treat as it only had a small piece of gum. I received  my favourite Pikachu's puzzle and sticker so I won't complain. :P

• Amazake: High Quality Sweet Sake

As the New Year approaches, the traditional beverage-style of choice in Japan are those with sweet flavors. This drink in particular is enjoyed warm, and we think you will love it that way, too! Enjoy this non-alcoholic Sake that is both sweet and invigorating! Great to have during any holiday celebration (contains 1% alcohol content).

Bummer. When I saw the image on the can, I thought it'd be some kind of flavoured milk. I opened the can, took one sip and immediately put it down. It had very unfamiliar smell and taste which I didn't like. I had to Google its ingredient list because I thought that it contains curd (I don't like curd and I'm quite allergic to it), but I came to know that it's a "sake" drink which is made up of fermented rice. I still have the drink (stored hyginecally) and I think I'm gonna try to drink it again, but this time I'll warm it a little. Till then..

Rating would be 1/5  :(

• Pokemon Moncolle 12 species Assortment

Our Special Item of the month is not a food or a drink but an amazing figurine from the Pokemon franchise. Enjoy opening your Pokemon toy box, not knowing which monster you will get. Up to 12 different options for the monster you will receive and we hope you end up getting the one you want! We know you will love collecting these adorable toys as much as we do! Have fun!

I received "Terrakion" toy which looks dangerously cute. :P Its outer packaging was damaged, but the toy was OK. My mom liked it and now it has a new home, in our shelf. :P

Overall Rating for treats - 4/5 | Rating for TokyoTreat's service - 5/5!

And that's all I got in my TokyoTreat January 2016 Box! I hope you guys enjoyed reading my unboxing post as much as I enjoyed eating all the treats! :D :P

My top 3 favourite snacks from this box were - Tohato Tyrant Rings, Yokai-Watch Fortune Seal Namaste Curry and Winter Pocky!

I liked the concept of this monthly snack box and I think it'd be a great gifting option for those people who are always eager to try out new kind of snacks from foreign countries. I don't know if I'll ever get to visit Japan in future, but at least I got to try the authentic Japanese treats while sitting at my home in India! :D

Will I recommend this Subscription Box?

Of course, yes! I'm sure that most of you are subscribed to at least one beauty or jewelery subscription box/bag so you know how they work.
