Lipstick Collection 2017 Swatched

Lipstick is one of my staple products, even if my skin is a little tired looking or my eye makeup isn’t anything particularly spectacular I always apply Lipstick before going out, it gives me confidence and is great for tying a look together and even hitting seasonal trends. Today I’m sharing with you my lipstick collection and swatches. Please note for this post I’ve just included lipsticks and crayons, I’ll do liquid lipsticks and glosses another time!

(L-R: Natural Collection Cherry Red, Tropic Dragonfruit, Seventeen Belle, Urban Decay Fiend, Collection Marshmallow Pink, Natural Collection Raspberry, Barry M Genie, Kiko 514, Makeup Revolution Barbie is Jealous, Maybelline Magnetic Magenta, Max Factory Eternally Luscious, Topship Wicked, Body Shop Damson in Distress, Mac Rebel, Soap and Glory Berry Much.)

Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipstick Cherry Red
This one is a brilliant pink toned red that’s great if you want a bold red lip that won’t dry your lips out. Paired with a red lip liner this one doesn’t bleed or feather but manages to make the teeth look whiter. It has a satin finish.

The formula is slightly on the dry side however, this does mean that it stays on. It has a fruity scent that reminds me of pink grapefruit which I wasn’t expecting. The colour is a warm toned coral that is more subtle than orange but a nice bright Shade for summer. It has a semi matte to matte finish.

Great if you prefer a barely there lip for daywear. This is a pink toned nude that feels glossy and balmy on the lips. This does have a glossy finish but it’s not as sticky as an actual gloss. This is a great one if you want a pop of colour but your lips are on the dryer side.

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Fiend
Sadly this has been discontinued which is a real shame because I love it for daywear. It’s incredibly similar to MAC Brave however, it is a smidgen darker and more pink toned, it has quite a creamy satin yet slightly glossy finish on the lips.

A warmer toned pink this is a great option for spring. It has a matte finish so if your lips are pretty dry then be sure to exfoliate and hydrate them before wearing this! This is a low maintenance lipstick it will need topping up after a few hours but it doesn’t crack, smudge or slide around.

Another great one for daywear, this is a rosy pink shade that has a moisturising and hydrating texture and a satin finish. I like this as it’s a little bit darker than my natural lip colour so it sits between a nude and then a berry tone. A great transitional shade from summer to autumn.

Barry M Lip Paint in Genie (Link)
This hasn’t developed very well on my hand but on me this turns into a very bright pink that also leaves behind a stain. The formula is very slippery so when you apply it it feels quite hydrating. Once it develops it can smudge a little bit however, it doesn’t feather or bleed. This leaves behind a gorgeous stain that looks like a lip tint when it fades which I love. This has a satin finish.

Kiko Luscious Cream Lipstick in 514
The packaging is a pain in the fact that it can get stuck but other than that it’s a nice lipstick as it feels quite luxurious. I love the shade of this as it’s a bright red toned pink however, the formula is quite high maintenance. This is a very glossy lipstick which means it can be difficult to get this to stay on the lips and it can smudge if you’re not careful. If you wear this no lip balm is required as it’s very moisturising but I’d recommend blotting once applied.

The shade of this is a very bold blue toned pink so you do have to be brave to wear this. The pigmentation is good and the formula feels quite hydrated and smooth on the lips. The downside to this is that it doesn’t have a strong longevity so this is one that will need topping up regularly. This also has a satin finish.

Maybelline Colour Sensational Matte Lipstick in Magnetic Magenta (Link)
This is the brightest shade of lipstick I believe I own as in this is a neon hot pink so not one for the faint hearted! I do like this but I haven’t worn it very much as it is very bold. This has a wonderfully creamy formula and despite the matte finish it doesn’t feel overly drying on the lips. This can wear off after a few hours so you may need to reapply.

(L-R: Max Factor Eternally Luscious,  Topshop Wicked, Body Shop Damson in Distress, MAC Rebel, Soap and Glory Berry Much)

I love the pale violet shade of this however, the formula makes this tricky to use. It has quite a lot of drag to it despite feeling quite creamy when swatched so it can offer a slightly uneven finish. I’d recommend exfoliating away any dry skin before applying this to prevent that. It also doesn’t have the best longevity in the world, this has a semi matte finish.

Topshop Lips in Wicked (Link)
This is an identical shade to MAC Rebel so I consider this to be a dupe. In the bullet this appears to be an incredibly deep red shade however, this translates to be a plummy berry shade which I like a lot. The formula is nice, this is creamy and glides onto the lips offering a satin finish. As this is quite a bold shade it can end up smudging so be sure to top up and keep an eye on it.

Body Shop Colour Crush Lipstick in Damson in Distress (Link)
I really love this lipstick, the shade is great for autumn and this has a creamy texture. Te formula is a semi matte, it’s not quite a matte lipstick but very close. This feels comfortable on the lips and is easy to apply (I can wear it without a lip liner), the only downside to this is that it fades within four hours (although it does fade evenly.)

MAC Lipstick in Rebel (Link)
Good old Rebel is an absolute classic shade for autumn and again it’s a wonderful lipstick. This has a satin finish so the lipstick glides onto the lips easily and effortlessly. The shade is quite bold (it’s the same as the Topshop shade) definitely a noticeable berry tone however, this is still easy to wear. This will need topping up but again it seems to leave the lips with some colour even when it fades.

Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker 3D Lip Crayon (Link)
This is such a bargain as it’s under five pounds! It’s a mini lip crayon that has a white tip that hugs the lip when you apply. The formula for this is spot on, it glides on feeling creamy but it has a matte finish so you don’t have to worry about it slipping around. Unlike most matte lipsticks this doesn’t feel drying or heavy on the lips which I like! As you can see the colour is a very bold berry but it’s great for the colder months.

So there we have it, hopefully you will have a new lipstick to try! I hope that you enjoyed this post and if you did please hit the like button, let me know in the comments if you have tried any of these lipsticks and feel free to link me to your lipstick collection posts.
