Weleda – The Family’s Favourite Brand

Weleda is the one brand that’s with me since I drastically changed my and my family’s lifestyle to a healthier one. I tried several product from the Swiss brand and I keep on repurchasing them ever since. Weleda products are not to “try”, they are all so amazing that once you used them, they will be a staple piece of your bathroom, beauty case or changing table. Below I collected my family’s favourite Weleda products, and I hope reading my review will inspire you to introduce this wonderful natural brand to your own family.

Weleda Ratanhia Toothpaste

My first encounter with this product was when I reviewed a British beauty box containing only green beauty products. Finding the right natural toothpaste was a bit of a struggle, but after long and thorough experimenting period we ended up having 2 favourites. My husband loves this  strenghtening product from Weleda, that help you avoid bleeding gums. I like it but I prefer stronger, mintier flavour so I’m using another type with aloe vera. Our son also uses a Weleda toothpaste – read all about it below.

Weleda Calendula Nappy Change Cream

I gave “the family’s favourite” title to this article , because in our family even the smallest (18 months old) one uses and loves Weleda’s products. When my son was born I was crazy about finding the purest yet most effective nappy  change cream for him, we tried a lot, but his super sensitive skin didn’t respond well to any of them, until we finally found the Calendula Nappy Change Cream. Its price much higher than the regular nappy creams, but a tube lasts for ages and it really treats baby bottoms as it should. Thanks to this wonderful product, -and the goodness of calendula extract in it,- we barely seen any redness in the past 1,5 year.

Weleda Calendula Massage Oil

I have to admit, that I’m not much into body lotions and stuff. I’ve never been the “lotion after every shower” type, yet there is a point even in my life when my skin starts screaming for help. The cooler season -thanks to central heating – always surprises me with extra dry flaky and itchy skin especially on my legs and arms. This not only feels bad but also looks disturbing. I was looking for some remedy for that, when I found the Weleda’s Calendula Massage Oil. The description said; “Carried in a silky layer of sunflower oil, and freshly scented with essential oils, Calendula Massage Oil is ideal for a massage that soothes and relaxes muscles while softening and nourishing your skin.” Thanks to the calming and anti inflammatory effect of calendula, and the great moisturizing of the oil I did not see my “rhinoceros skin” ever returning.

Weleda Calendula Shampoo & Body Wash

We started to use this product just about a month ago, when we ran out of our previously reviewed baby soap.  My son’s skin tends to develop eczema very easily, so we always have to be very careful with his personal care products. After using this soap we didn’t experience any kind of irritation; my baby’s skin was clean and soft, and the product has only a very very subtle scent (I hate strongly perfumed baby products). The fact that you can use it on skin & hair as well, is an extra bonus especially when traveling.

Weleda Children’s Tooth Gel

My little one is proud owner of 12 teeth already. It might not seem a lot at first, but it’s important that you start cleaning these little pearls, and teaching your kid the right dental routine from the appearance of the first milk teeth. The state of the milk teeth can affect the health of the permanent teeth later on. When it comes to oral care for babies it’s super important to choose a toothpaste that lacks all the possibly toxic ingredients, that regular toothpaste could contain. With little kids it often happens that they swallow the toothpaste, but with Weleda’s Children’s Tooth Gel you don’t have to worry about it. For me the flavour (very subtle minty) was an extra bonus because I think it’s bad to temp kids to brush their teeth with bubblegum flavoured, sweet toothpastes that will give them a false sense of  “it’s ok to eat it”.

Me and my family tried several other Weleda products as well and we’ve never been dissapointed by them.

Do you use and Weleda products at the moment? If not, which one would you like to try?
