3 Palettes to get you Party-ready this Christmas 2018!

The Sephora Beauty Insider sale is currently underway, and in case you need some help choosing new makeup for the upcoming party season, here are 3 eyeshadow palettes that you should definitely consider!

Natasha Denona Mini Star Palette

This is a handy 5-shade palette inspired by the larger Star Eyeshadow Palette.  This is slightly smaller than the regular Eyeshadow Palette 5’s, with only 5 x 0.8gm of product (vs. 1gm each for the full-size).  I like that the palette is so sleek and compact, hence making it perfect for traveling.  A lot of thought has been put into the shade selection, as there is the perfect mix of mattes, shimmer and metallic foil for a great range of use.

The most striking feature of this palette is that gorgeous duo-tone hue.  On the palette it appears blue-grey, but I was surprised that it applies with a brown base.  This picture dos not capture the metallic blue flash when it catches the light, but it certainly adds a special dimension when layered with the other shades.

For this makeup look above, I used the lighter shades on the inner half of my lid, and layered on the dark brown on the outer corner for dimension.  This is an easy look that suits the office and can be easily built upon by adding the duo chrome to the middle and antique gold foil for extra pop.

Becca Volcano Goddess

I don’t give Becca enough coverage here on this blog, which is something I hope to rectify in the coming year.  The products are lovely and keep getting better with each new launch.  This Volcano Goddess Palette has a striking cover, and the shades are buttery soft that I was literally drooling as I was swatching.  The metallics are gorgeously pigmented, and almost everything here are single swipes.  I was surprised by the purple pull of Midnight Sapphire, and mildly disappointed by how the blue glitters fall away upon application.  But I think the shades complement each other beautifully, there is a coherence to the selections, and I was able to create several looks easily and effortlessly with this palette.

Along with the palette, Becca has also released 3 new limited edition Volcano Goddess Glow Glosses.  These are insanely pigmented for glosses, and have a beautiful jelly-like shine.  As with all good lip glosses, these are non-sticky and stay on well when left untouched.

For this makeup look, I wore a combination of Agate Ash, Crater and Midnight Saphire from the Becca Volcano Goddess Palette on my lids,  And on my lips is Becca Volcano Goddess Glow Gloss in Ruby Fire.

Zoeva Eclectic Eyes Palette

Zoeva has quickly become one of my favourite brands to check out at Sephora because the palettes are always beautifully designed, thin and lightweight, and the shades exciting.  For this Holiday 2018, there is a new Eclectic Eyes Palette that at first look seem rather plain, but actually pack some hidden surprise.  The pigmentation of the palette is true-to-form excellent, and there are several duo chrome metallics.  The biggest surprise is Nuanced Brushstrokes which turned out blue with a grass-green shift.  Dimensional Play continues the duo chrome with a darker blue-gold combination.  I put these shades to work in the look below:

All 3 palettes shown here today are excellent value for money, and great quality.  Happy shopping!

This post featured products that were generously provided for my consideration.  Regardless, all opinions expressed here are my own honest, unbiased views.
