FFFuture Collection from RMK

After being all sweet and girlie for the past couple of seasons, RMK strikes a bold statement with its latest FFFuture Collection (“fast forward future”) for FW2017.  This is a special collaboration with Japanese fashion designer Taro Horiuchi, who is known for his sleek architectural aesthetics.  And befittingly, the entire collection feels cooler and edgier than ever before.

The Rmk Fffuture Collection consists of 27 brand new pieces for eyes, cheeks, lips and nails.  I was particularly mesmerized by the innovative design of the eyeshadow and cheek palettes, but unfortunately I did not receive any of them.  Regardless, I still have quite a bit to show you, and after playing around with them for a bit, I think these make much more fun and unique additions for those of us who already have an extensive makeup collection!

First up, the RMK FFFuture Ingenious Liquid Eyeliner EX is something you really should check out.  There are only 3, and all limited edition, sleek liquid eyeliners with a metallic finish.  The brush is fine-tipped and has a nice flick, that gives good control and is easy to achieve a cat eye.  I was surprised by how opaque the colors are, even the paler shades, so I do not have to risk going over multiple times and messing up an otherwise clean stroke.

The shades are:

  • TH-01 Navy is a deep midnight blue with a hint of light blue and lilac micro-shimmer.  Great for defining the eyes.
  • TH-02 Metallic Mint is a pale silvery turquoise. Wear it above the Navy, or sweep a thicker modernistic flick for an unusual look.
  • TH-03 Silver is a light metallic silver. I’ve worn this on my lower lash line and inner corner to brighten up the eyes, and loved the effect!

Equally fun, are the limited edition RMK FFFuture Cheek Sticks.  I have been loving cream blushes in stick forms lately, as they give that healthy lit-from-within colour that looks effortless, and is also more convenient for travels.  These are not as slippery as most other cream blushes I’ve tried, and they also go on sheer initially but are buildable.  RMK takes the concept a notch higher with these 3 cheek sticks, especially with the unusual yellow and white ones!

The shades are:

  • TH-01 Baby Gold sheers out on the skin, and imparts the barest shimmery golden tint. I had to swipe it multiple times for it to show up this much.  Use this over bare skin just on the cheek bones for a sun-kissed effect, or top it over another blush color for a pop.
  • TH-02 Future Red is an unusually bold warm red for cheeks, and I’ve taken to swiping it across my lips as well.  It sheers and blends out well though, so no worries about clown cheeks.
  • TH-03 Blue White is an interesting one… it is nearly invisible but imparts a brightening sheen on the skin with just a touch of pearlescent shimmer.  Use it as a highlighter, or even a color corrector.

RMK FFFuture Lips are very similar to their Face Pop Lips from Spring collection [see here] although I found these to be softer in terms of pigmentation and finish.  These are 3 new limited edition shades, in a soft matte finish.  The shades are:

  • TH-01 Beige – a pale muted golden peach
  • TH-02 Orange – medium brightened coral
  • RH-03 Rose – neutral-toned red

Last but certainly not least, RMK has also released 5 new shades of nail polishes.  I am a huge fan of RMK’s nail polish formula, and I even don’t mind the longer brushes with this recently changed packaging, because the formula itself is so fuss-free.  The 3 shades that I have here are:

RMK FFFuture Nail Polish TH-02 Grey is a mid-toned grey with a soft cream finish.  It is nicely opaque in 2 coats.

RMK FFFuture Nail Polish TH-03 Orange is a warm-toned orange, that is slightly sheer and could do with 3 coats.  Shown above is 2 coats.

RMK FFFuture Nail Polish TH-04 Navy is a deep midnight blue with a beautiful cream finish.  This one is a real stunner and has the magical ability to make my hands look fairer.

And as you know, I love playing around with nail polishes, so here is an easy nail design inspired by one of my recent loves…

The RMK FFFuture Collection will be out in counters from mid-August!  Has anything here caught your eye yet?
