Foods to Eat to Fight Signs of Aging

The doctor doesn’t have to tell you that your diet is very important in keeping your Skin from aging a day past 25. Who am I kidding, there are way more variable which may be contributing to fine lines, wrinkles and blemishes but hey you’re beautiful! If you want to rewind the clock a tad and maybe bring some more colour to your complexion, consider adding these foods to your diet and you’ll definitely see some changes. They’re all delicious and inexpensive (compared to that night cream you forget to use sometimes).

  1. Fish
    Fish is rich in Omega 3 fatty acids which adds strength the skin cell walls in order to keep moisture in, stable and consistent and fight the signs of aging. Especially fishes like salmon, mackerel and sardines are very abundant in Omega 3. The good stuff! Don’t eat too much because there’s a risky chance of mercury poisoning, maybe a few times a week.
  2. Green Tea
    Containing a compound known as catechins, green tea helps fight free radicals from sun exposure and counteracts sun damage. We all know that sun damage is one of the skin’s worst aging enemy. Green tea also contains antioxidants which help skin cells maintain a healthy life cycle and grow with vigor! A few cups a day won’t hurt.
  3. Olive Oil
    Olive oil is filled with Omega 3, as mentioned before these are cholesterol friendly and improves circulation giving you the rosy glow you desire to look and feel younger. About a tablespoon a day is more than enough to see the fine lines disappearing. Aging BEGONE!

  4. Berries
    Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and more, contain antioxidants, probiotics, flavonoids, polyphenols which are all big words for ‘GREAT FOR YOUR BODY’, so fill that smoothie bowl up to the brim with these sweet treats. It helps your cells with sun protection, digestion and preventing diseases like cancer etc.
  5. Honey
    Also overflowing with antioxidants and anti-viral, honey is the perfect substitute for sugar when your sweet tooth is feeling peckish. Not only is it great consumed but it can used for DIY skin treatments, a popular ingredient for skin food.

  6. Nuts
    Nuts from Almonds to Walnuts are all rich in Omega 3 and some in Vitamin E too which are ideal for the conditioning of your skin. The antiinflamatory properties are perfect for sensitive skin types that suffer from acne, eczema or posiaris.

  7. Bone Broth
    Nothing is more collagen potent than bone broth. Collagen is the important ingredient inside your body that gives your skin the elasticity and the ability to replace dead skin cells. When the body starts aging, the production of collagen decreases dramatically so you want to fill your body with these so that you will always feel supple give that skin the youthful bounce.

It should also be said that it is important to add these foods to a routine, eating an excess amount of them once every so often won’t have the effects that would be skin-health ideal. All things in moderation.
