Finding Your Undertone

Tags: color hair colors

This is a big question a lot of us have...what Color do I wear?? Whether it's for makeup, lip color, hair color or clothing. You need to know what compliments your skin the best! Are you wondering why I am sharing a picture of my wrist? Well this is one of the easiest ways to determine your undertone color. It's based on the color of your veins.

Push up your sleeve. What color do you see? Are your veins more blue or green? If you are seeing more blue/purple veins you have cooler undertones. You can wear colors like pinks, reds & blues. Now if you are seeing green/olive veins you have warmer undertones. You can wear colors like yellow, peachy, golden undertones. What if you are like wait, I am seeing blue & green...you are neutral my friend! This is great you an wear everything!

Another way to determine your undertones is based on your eye & hair color. Your natural eye and hair colors can help figure out your coloring. Customarily, cool people have eyes that are blue, gray, or green and have blond, brown, or black hair with blue, silver, violet and ash undertones. Conversely, warm-toned women usually have brown, amber, or hazel eyes with strawberry blond, red, brown, or black hair. Their hair tends to have gold, red, orange, or yellow undertones.

Lastly the sun can be a big determining actor when finding out your undertone. When you are out in the sun, are you one to turn golden and brown, or do you turn pink then possibly red (hope you are wearing your sunscreen!!) Those who are golden brown are mostly likely warm, and those who well the sun is not their friend, they have cool undertones.

Now that you have three ways of finding what your undertones we can get busy and figure out together what colors you want to try!! What you thinking Bold & Beautiful or Soft & Sassy?? Since I am a neutral I want a little bit of both!!
