Listening To: August

For some reason, my music choices lately have all been nostalgic. I’ve been listening to the albums and bands I listened to as a teenager, maybe because I’ve been stuck both with finding new music I really love, and stuck with where I am in life. Something familiar is comforting, but I also really want something new, so I’m open to suggestions! Don’t forget to check out the albums I’ll be listening to below also!

ALBUMS

Bombay Bicycle Club – So Long See You Tomorrow

This is an album that I just can’t stop coming back to since it released in 2014 BBC are one of my all time favourites, and I adored the slightly more dance-y, upbeat direction this album took, while still having its tender, quiet moments. Please don’t break up before I see you live, Bombay Bicycle Club.

The Wombats – Glitterbug

I saw The Wombats live when I was 14. They were my favourite band, I was bursting (both from excitement and the need to pee. Yes, I almost pissed myself seeing The Wombats live), I almost punched a girl for physically shoving me out of my amazing spot (not cool on either of our parts) and it was beautiful. I don’t know why I’ve never listened to this album before.

Friendly Fires – Friendly Fires

I don’t know where these boys have gone and when they’re coming back, but man do they make some good tunes. I’ve been dancing to ‘Skeleton Boy’ since I was 12 (that’s almost a decade….fuck), so I wanted to go back and listen to their full debut again because it’s been a long, long time.

Snakadaktal – Sleep In The Water

RIP (One of my favourite albums of all time though)

Frank Ocean – Blond

Don’t drag me but I’ve never really listened to Frank Ocean before…at least I’m going to now, right?
