Unsettled Threads: The Sam Edelman Asher Bootie

Unsettled Threads is a new series of monthly blog posts in which I will pick one item from my wardrobe and talk about it: what I like, what I don’t like, why I got it and when, if I anticipate it being a staple in my wardrobe or just one season fling, and everything else that I feel is fun, silly or note-worthy.

So I’m going to start these series with my beloved pair of Sam Edelman peep toe booties that captured my heart from the first second I saw them smiling and waiting quietly for me on a shoe rack.

The model name of this gorgeous boot is “Asher” and it’s made of a calf leather and suede mixture, the front being suede and the back leather. It features an open (or “peep”) toe design, a suede lace up front and a side zipper. The stitching in the toe opening area did gave me a few little blisters, but then again my feet and my skin are so sensitive that absolutely every. single. pair. of shoes gives me that. Without fail. Yes, even the most comfortable sneakers!

The heel height is 3 3⁄4 in, which makes it bearable to be in for an extended period of time.

I got these last year in November when we were in vacation in Naples (FL) – pretty much on a whim – and I’ve been super in love with them ever since. What I love the most about these is that they instantly elevate any outfit, while still being trendy and cool, and not falling into the too dressy or formal look. They can be worn with jeans, skirts or dresses, and because they are peep toe they give the illusion of an elongated leg (which I desperately need…).

My favorite way to style them is with frayed and distressed jeans or with skirts / dresses with frills or ruffles (preferably above the knee) or midi pencil skirts / dresses (over the knee). I also love wearing them with my black leather jacket from Diesel, which you guys probably know from prior outfit posts.

Thank you so much for reading, please share and come back soon for new fashion, lifestyle and beauty articles!

Much love,
