Kiasmos – Blurred + Remixes

musicisart magazine Kiasmos – Blurred + Remixes

Sometimes the best way to relax is to listen to calming, downtempo musicKiasmos provide a modern twist to perfection. Duo producers Ólafur Arnalds and Janus Rasmussen allow their own creative abilities to gracefully combine. Together their meditative sounds present an ethereal atmosphere mixed with sophisticated storylines told without words, felt within the simplistic beats and strings that provide a comfortably nurturing experience for the soul.

Kiasmos delivered a stunning electronic masterpiece in 2015, the Swept EP, and began touring extensively all over the world. After two years of touring, Kiasmos went back to to where they started in native Iceland. The duo began the songwriting process again, and released another work of art EP called Blurred.

“To write new material felt like a new beginning for us after two years of touring. The plan was to write something a tad darker than our previous stuff. Spring in Reykjavík had other plans though, as this turned out to be our brightest release to date.” — Janus Rasmussen

Downtempo’s king Bonobo has been a fan of Kiasmos for some time including their work on his internet DJ show, Outlier Radio. After listening to the title track Blurred, Bonobo was inspired to re-edit the track, adding in his own heavy percussion to take the sound on a hypnotic journey.

“We have been listening to Bonobo since we were young, so it was a great honor that he wanted to contribute remixes for the EP.” — Ólafur Arnalds
