A caterpillar stitch model

Over the weekend I had my first attempt at the Caterpillar Stitch, something that I’ve wanted to do for a while, but simply felt intimidated. For years, I’ve flipped through and stared at the instructions of the caterpillar stitch in Keith Smith’s book but never just gone ahead and tried it out.

So, to make things easier, I took Susan Mill’s caterpillar stitch class on Sunday. We first practiced a few stitching patterns on a sample card, which will definitely become handy for future reference, and then I made my first model. Now the intimidation is gone and like Susan said, “happy caterpillar-ing”!
